PIONEERS IN ADVANCED FIBERGLASS PIPING SYSTEMS

Bell & spigot with double O-ring gasket and locking device

Joint classification: Mechanical, slightly flexible, axial restrain.

Description: Bell and spigot ends are built during pipe manufacturing to obtain a monolithic structure. Hydraulic tightness is guaranteed by double elastomeric O-ring gaskets placed into the spigot grooves. Joint axial restraining is obtained by a nylon rod inserted in the proper groove on the bell and spigot through one or more openings on the bell.
The test nipple (available from DN150) allows to pressurize the O-rings chamber to check the coupling hydraulic tightness immediately after the joint assembly.

Use of Key-Lock Couplings in Fiberglass piping

  • Quick assembly
  • Separate pressure test of the coupling during installation
  • Pipes can be covered with sand after pressure test of the coupling. Not the complete trench must stay open, till after the final hydrotest of the system
  • Small misalignments absorption during installation
  • Thermal expansion absorption
